I Don't Need S*x Toy, Naija Men Can Satisfy Me –Actress Chika

Chika Agatha is one of the rough babes in Nollywood today who is bold, beautiful and has the gut to play just any role in a movie, including pulling everything, provided the director is a professional who knows his job.

In a recent interview you said don’t believe in love, why?
I have come to understand that love means different things in Nigeria. Different things make people fall in love. It could be money, it could be séx, it could be for companionship, it could be for whatever reasons of which some are not really acceptable to me. The only people who have really shown me what love is, are my parents especially, my dad. If it’s the way Nigerians have reduced love to buying chocolate and ice cream, I guess everybody is in love then.

Your b00bs are very big, are they natural?
I’ve never ever dreamt of going under the knife, whether for my b00bs or for my body. I think God has created me perfectly. I am beautiful and I know that. I don’t need to go under the knife to enhance anything on my body. I just need to stay in shape, keep fit and that’s it. I’m good to go.

How do you deal with your male admirers?
You all know how I handle them. Since they are in love, there are always bills there to pay so they would have to run away. It’s not like I tell them to pay my bills though, but I have seen that in Nigeria, the only way you can actually chase a man out of your life is to tell him, ‘I need this, I need that’.

For some who can actually give that, I don’t tell them to pay my bills, I don’t give them that option because I know they are ready to pay and all that, but I try to let them know I am not the kind of girl you can buy off with a gift or money. If that is the way to have a relationship, I should have about five now, but I am looking for something out of the ordinary. I’m sorry if I’m asking for too much but who am I not to.

Do you believe in vibrators?
Why do I have to get a vibrator when there are so many able men out there? It could be helpful for some people who do not have relationships but seriously, Nigerian guys are very able bodied men.

If you want to have a good séx, you should have one of your friends that you have feelings for, even if you guys are not really dating. Believe it or not, some men don’t like to be committed to a woman and don’t believe in dating. Instead of jumping around from one place to the other with loads of people you don’t really know, it’s safer to do it with someone you know, someone close to you, someone you can actually give yourself to.

Not for payment of any kind or for exchange of money. I don’t believe in that kind of thing. I mean, if a guy walks up to me and tells me I’m going to pay you this for doing this, it might actually even turn me off. That’s why I’m me. I don’t know how other girls do that, but séx for me shouldn’t depend on how much you can give me because I may probably have séx with you but never "come". I mean who wants to have séx and not "come"? It’s really annoying.

My Assets Can Seduce Any Man —Actress Sandra Bassey

Sandra Bassey, former Miss Niger Delta (2012) is a beauty to behold. Recently, she debuted in Nollywood as she featured in the screen adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie’s bestselling novel, Half of a Yellow Sun. In a chat with Showtime Celebrity, Sandra shares some information information. Read below:

How do you maintain your skin?
I drink water a lot. Water is essential for the skin. I also eat lots of fruits and vegetables. I hardly use body cream, because of the chemicals used in making them which are sometimes harmful to the skin.

Everything good has its disadvantages. What are those things you didn’t like being a queen?
Basically, one of the challenges I had was advances from men. Men wanting to sleep with you in exchange for project sponsorship or to approve your proposals. Another challenge was in terms of friendship. I didn’t know who were my true friends. Lots of people came around me. I didn’t know who came because I was beautiful, or for my fame. I didn’t know who came genuinely, because of my personality. I got confused at a point.

Can you do séxual roles?
It depends. Seduction is a spirit. A woman can be fully dressed and still seduce a man. You don’t need to go nudé in order to seduce a man. Some men don’t get aroused by nudity. You just have to be possessed with a seductive spirit at that moment. Your eyes and body language can seduce.

What did fame give to you?
It has exposed me. I have lots of friends. When I think of where I come from and where I am now, I feel humbled. Fame has given me the chance to thank God for my life.

Since you started acting, how many movies have you done?
I’ve done three movies. It was a wonderful experience on set, I had fun. I was scared on the set of Half of a Yellow Sun, acting alongside great actors. It was a positive fear, it was just too good to be true. Acting has been wonderful, I’ve heard people say so many negative things about Nollywood, but so far I’ve not experienced any.

Would you want to take your acting career to Hollywood if you have the opportunity?
That’s actually my vision, but I wouldn’t want to leave Nollywood. I would want to project Nollywood to the extent where Hollywood will come to look for Nollywood. The main reason I ventured into modelling is to have a platform..

What qualities would attract you to a man?
He should be himself, have a good heart and be God-fearing I love good-looking guys, but that’s not the main criteria. I love guys who are decent in dressing and character.

Would you mind dating someone in the movie industry?
I wouldn’t mind. Despite the popular perception and belief that Nollywood is corrupt, I still believe I can find a good person. If I find someone that suits my personality, I don’t mind giving him a chance.

Would you marry a fellow actor if you eventually meet the one you like?
For now, I don’t know. When we get to that bridge, we’ll cross it.

How far can you go in interpreting a role?
I can go very far, but I can’t act nudé.

What if the script requires that you do it to seduce someone?
You can seduce someone without going nude. I believe that one can still uphold the virtues of womanhood, even while trying to project a particular character. I can do all manner of seduction with sanity. I’ll still protect my womanhood at all costs. I could wear a bikini, but I wouldn’t go completely nudé.

Describe your person?
I’m a simple, industrious, ambitious and God-fearing young lady, who derives joy from making people happy at the expense of her own happiness.

What do you hope to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered as that young girl who tried her best in grooming future superstars. I want to be a hope to the hopeless.

Soft drink’ increases risk of breast cancer – Study

Life is good, more so when there is money to acquire things of interest. Sweet beverages are usually handy when thirsty, while to some, a meal is incomplete without a bottle of soft drink to go down with it. However, as this kind of nutrition may seem good, opulent and a sign of good life, it may not be entirely good for the body.

A new study has revealed that women who drink up to three sugar-sweetened beverages or ‘soft drink’ in a week increase their risk of having breast cancer, due to increased density of the breast.

It is believed that it takes discipline and self-control on the part of both men and women to shy away from sweet drinks, but the new study has found a link between sweet drinks and breast cancer risk.

Lead author of the study, Dr. Caroline Diorio, from Laval University in Quebec, Canada, said, “We know that worldwide consumption of sugar has increased and the findings of this study show what effect that type of diet could have on breast density, one of the strongest indicators for breast cancer risk.”

The researchers recruited 1,555 women for the study, half of whom were pre-menopausal and the other half were post-menopausal. While the pre-menopausal women consumed sugar-sweetened beverages, post-menopausal women ate more food that also included fat, both within the same period. Thereafter, they answered a questionnaire about how often they drank sugar-sweetened fruit drinks and sugary beverages.

For the premenopausal women, they were given a serving of 355ml, about the size of a normal can of fizzy drink, and their breast density and those of the post-menopausal women were measured through mammogram screening.

The post-menopausal women who ate more food that included fat saw an increase in breast density, while the pre-menopausal women experienced more breast density when they consumed sugar-sweetened beverages, and are 3 per cent more likely to have dense breasts than those who didn’t consume the drinks.

“And it was not like the pre-menopausal women were pounding the soda, they were drinking just three sugar-sweetened beverages a week,” Diorio said.

The researchers found that the more sugary drinks consumed by the women in their study, the greater the density of their breasts, which is a known risk factor for cancer.

Diorio said, “An increase of about three per cent in breast density is not negligible in terms of breast cancer risk.

“By comparison, it has been shown that healthy women at high risk of developing breast cancer who received the breast cancer drug, tamoxifen, for four-and-a-half years had a reduction of 6.4 per cent in breast density, and it has been observed that tamoxifen can reduce the risk of breast cancer by 30-50 per cent in high-risk women.”

The study, which was published in the journal BMC Public Health, further revealed that sugar increases the migration of breast cells together. Diorio says having dense breasts increases the risk of breast cancer by making it difficult to see tumours on mammograms, which may explain why the premenopausal women who consumed sugar-sweetened drinks were 3 per cent more likely to have dense breasts than those who did not consume the drinks.

In addition, women with dense breasts have a higher risk of developing cancer because they have less fatty tissue and more non-fatty tissue that increases the number of cells that have the potential to become cancerous and drain supportive tissue that surrounds the gland. It is believed that sugar can enhance cell growth, therefore increasing the density of breast tissue.

Apart from the fact that breast density could be inherited, younger women’s breasts are normally dense, i.e. have less fatty tissue and as women age, there’s less breast tissue left and more fat.

Their cancers are also more likely to be missed because any areas of abnormal tissue are harder to spot during mammogram screening.

Diorio advised that the worldwide increase in sugar consumption should be reduced because of its adverse effects.

The study concluded that the association between sugar consumption and likelihood of breast density, while small, is significant, which Diorio believes gives another reason to kick sugar to the curb.

In a reaction, medical practitioner, Dr. Rotimi Adesanya, said there is no direct relationship between sugar and breast cancer, as it has no effect on it. He said what could be linked with the risk of breast cancer is fatty diet.

“If a woman takes excess fat, it can predestine the person to having breast cancer because part of the precautions we tell women is that they should reduce their fatty meat and eat healthy. Although taking three bottles of soft drink may also be too much but it is not linked to breast cancer.

“We also advise people to reduce their sugar intake but it’s not a factor for breast cancer except if the person is overweight, and when such a person takes excess sugar, it adds to the weight which can lead to obesity, which is another risk factor for breast cancer.”

Adesanya added that the three basic things that could put anyone in danger in terms of nutrition are oil, fat and sugar, and therefore advised that caution be taken on the three.

Lagos command arrests robbers using police uniforms

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested members of an armed robbery gang, who made use of Mobile Police uniforms to perpetrate their acts in the state.

The four members are Julius George, Samuel Orgah, Lucky Oliseh and Lucky Friday. Our correspondent learnt that they were rounded up on Sunday, June 22, at the Ile Zik area on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

It was further gathered that the suspects were arrested following a tip-off to the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, who directed men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, led by SP Abba Kyari, to go after them.

Our correspondent learnt that the gang had earlier escaped arrest during a robbery operation involving a trailer of iron rods valued at N80m.

From their confessions, it was gathered that other operations of the gang included robbing a trailer load of rice at Oju-Elegba area worth N4.5m and that of a tanker carrying engine oil worth N11m.

However, they were arrested during the Ile Zik area operation, which was said to be their fourth operation, and involving about N8m.

The suspects confessed to the police that George, before the operations, had promised to provide them with police uniforms, which he did.

The 34-year-old George from Otupko, Benue State, who is also said to be the gang leader, confessed that he lied to other members of the gang that he was a policeman.

George, whose nickname is Mopol, added that he had bought the Mobile Police uniforms from a market and given them to his gang members.

He said, “This was not the first time we would use police uniforms for robbery. In 2013, I was arrested by the police and charged to court. I was remanded for some time, but my family came and I was released on bail. Later, the court discharged me for want of evidence.

“While in remand at the Kirikiri Prisons, I met Sam (Orgah). When I came out of prisons, a friend of mine called Benjamin invited me again for another job. I was asked to escort a truck of engine oil from Apapa to Mushin, because they still regarded me as a policeman. They paid me N5,000 when they offloaded.”

George, who is married with children and lived in Olorunshobare Street, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos confessed that he had also partaken in robbery operations on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

However, 33-year-old Orgah also from Otukpo, Benue State, in his own confession, said he had earlier been arrested for armed robbery in 2011, and had come out of prison in 2013. He added that he used to rob cars in the Epe area, and was making use of a locally-made gun purchased from one Suleiman.

For Oliseh, who hails from Amai, Delta State, he met George only three weeks before their arrest when the latter invited him for the N8m robbery in Ile Zik area.

Thirty-three-year-old Friday, who is from Jessey, Delta State, and worked at a Shipping company in Apapa Wharf, said he met George three months ago at Iyana -Oba where they became friends.

“I have never gone on an operation with Mopol before. He only invited me to come with him to collect money. I did not know it was robbery,” he said.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, confirmed that the gang members were arrested during a robbery operation where they had worn a T-shirt with a ‘Mopol’ inscription.

She said, “They are not policemen. They were arrested during a robbery operation in a T-shirt with an inscription, ‘Mopol’. The SARS is still investigating.”
